This means that in this place the thickness of the wall will be only 1-2 cm, which will greatly reduce the thermal resistance of the walls of the wooden house compared to when the longitudinal groove was made correctly. And this means that the opinion that the larger the diameter of the longitudinal groove and, as a result, the thinnest place of the wall, the much warmer the wooden house will be, is wrong. More precisely, it applies exclusively to the stages of manufacture and assembly. After shrinkage and shrinkage of the tree, the longitudinal groove will open, which in the future will lead to the appearance of cracks. To avoid this, the longitudinal groove must be done correctly and in proportion to the diameter of the log.
In the production of rounded logs, it is necessary to leave technological gaps in the bowls, the width of which should be approximately 1 cm. If this is not done, then during the shrinkage of the house, the logs will “hang” on the bowls, and gaps will form between them along the entire length of the wall. If you carefully follow the rules and leave a gap, then after the shrinkage is over, the house will simply drop by 10-15 cm, thanks to which it compensates for the decrease in the diameter of the log.

The production of round logs can be conditionally divided into several stages. Upon receipt of the timber for production from timber trucks, it is sorted by a hydraulic manipulator and stored in a raw warehouse. If necessary, a log of the required diameter and breed is fed to the overpass, from where it is brought to the workshop by a log hauler for processing on a rounding machine. Next, molding is made, after which the log is transferred to the marking, trimming, selection of bowls, grooves and flats. Thus, finished parts are obtained, which are taken out of the workshop on a conveyor belt and sent to the finished product warehouse.
