It is necessary to mark the laying of film elements on the diagram, taking into account all precautions and restrictions. At the same time, it is important to take into account that markings are applied on the surface of the heating film, according to which it can be cut.


You should not lay thermal film in places where furniture is located, as the heating elements will overheat, waste excess energy, and may even fail. Not to mention the furniture itself, which can also suffer.

It is necessary to place adjacent segments of the film at a distance of 5 cm, avoiding their overlap or intersection.

As a rule, it is considered optimal to lay an infrared underfloor heating under a laminate in an area of ​​​​40-60% of the total area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe room.


In another version, "zero" and "phase" cables are attached on opposite sides of the film, in order to avoid their intersection. This connection method requires care so as not to provoke a short circuit.

The temperature sensor is placed approximately in the center of the stacked film elements so that the length of its cable is enough to connect to the thermostat.

When all the nuances are taken into account in the diagram, you can proceed directly to laying the floor.

Preliminary preparation of the base

If it is planned to install an infrared floor under a laminate on a concrete base, then it must be properly prepared - leveled, reinforced, primed and dust-free. Next, they proceed to preparing it for laying film elements.

The screed is removed from dust, dirt and any microparticles with a vacuum cleaner.


Under the heating elements, in order to save electricity, a thermally insulating foil substrate is laid. The thickness of this layer is 2-3 mm.

The foil layer is laid with the metallized side out. Such a substrate is attached to the floor with double-sided tape, and the seams between the canvases are glued with adhesive tape.

The thickness of the substrate allows you to mask all communication cables, terminals, and a temperature sensor in it so that they do not go beyond the general level of the warm floor when laying laminated panels.

Heating foil laying

According to the scheme prepared in advance, the heating film is cut and laid out over the area of ​​the room. When cutting the film and moving along it after laying, you should be careful not to damage the conductive and radiating segments. If this happens, the defective area should be removed.

Along the cut line, all bare contacts that are not needed to connect the film to the network should be insulated. For these purposes, bituminous tape is supplied with the material.


Place the film segments with the copper elements down. At the same time, it is possible to fix the position of the heating elements relative to each other and on the substrate using adhesive tape.

Clip-on terminals are inserted into special gaps in the film, and the protruding parts are sunk into the thickness of the substrate. After that, the clips are crimped for the subsequent connection of the heating element to the power cable.

Having laid out the cable according to the diagram, the ends are stripped and switched with the terminals, after which they are crimped.

When laying heating elements, it is important not to forget about the temperature sensor. It is placed under the thermal film, approximately in the center of the canvas so that its working element falls on the radiating dark strip. You can fix the sensor with bitumen tape supplied with the film floor.


After connecting the wiring to the film floor, all cables with connection nodes are hidden in the insulating substrate, making cuts in it, and then fixed with adhesive tape.

Electrical connection

When all installation work is completed, you can connect the system to the mains and test run to monitor its performance.

All power cables for the floor heating elements are routed to a thermostat pre-installed in the wall. In cases where separate sections of the underfloor heating are powered by separate cables, they should be connected using connectors, in particular, Wago terminals are well suited for these purposes.

In no case should you twist the wires of individual lines, since this will reduce the quality of switching and can lead to overheating and sparking of the wiring.

If you do not have sufficient theoretical knowledge to work with electrical equipment, it is better to consult with a specialist. He will tell you what power the machine should be installed for underfloor heating, and also advise on the connection power cable to the thermostat. At the same time, it is forbidden to connect the infrared floor heating system to a conventional outlet.


To protect the electrical network from overvoltage and ensure the safety of users, a warm floor is connected to the network through an RCD.

After completion of all work on connecting the underfloor heating to the mains, a thorough re-check of its correctness is carried out according to the scheme. After that, a test run of the heating system is performed. If everything works and no problems are found anywhere, you can proceed to laying the laminate.

On top of the infrared film underfloor heating in without fail lay a layer of waterproofing. It can be either dense polyethylene, or a special substrate for the laminate that comes with it. The film is laid with an overlap between adjacent canvases of 15-20 cm, after which the seams are sealed with adhesive tape. This step will serve to protect the heating elements in case of an unexpected splash of water on the laminate.


Further laying of the laminate is carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions, taking into account the nuances characteristic of the installation of this coating.
