Half a century ago, there were no separate legume varieties, so young pods of ordinary grain beans were eaten.

I have a desire to grow plants in the garden that are unpretentious, but at the same time decorative for a long time. Whenever possible, I collect just such plants. In addition to beautiful flowers, I pay attention to the beauty of the leaves and the overall silhouette. On this path, there are both pleasant discoveries and disappointments (where without them). Japanese kerria was a discovery for me - one of the few shrubs that can grow almost without my intervention.

The end of spring and the beginning of summer have one important feature for gardeners - plants during this period grow intensively and increase the ovary, the future harvest, while they consume a huge amount of water and nutrients. Delicious oriental puff pastry pie with meat, vegetables, dates and boiled eggs. This dish can be prepared from the leftovers of yesterday's stew, boiled meat or the remains of a baked chicken. I advise you to grind boiled meat and baked chicken and season well - pour over with melted butter, sprinkle with ground cumin, fragrant paprika and chili. Otherwise, the cooking process is simple - roll out the dough, lay the filling in layers and send it to the preheated oven for half an hour.

Among the fruit-bearing plants that can be grown indoors, cyphomandra has become a real hit in recent years. Having moved from greenhouses and botanical gardens to rooms, the legendary (and luxurious) tomato tree further enhanced the decorativeness of greenery, but did not lose its ability to bear fruit. Getting a crop of fragrant, sweet and exotic fruits to the table and at the same time becoming the owner of a real tub exotic is a temptation for many.

Among green vegetables, spinach occupies one of the first places in terms of its beneficial and nutritious properties. For a long time it was thought that this herbaceous plant originally from Asia contains a large amount of iron - as much as 35 mg per 100 g of the product. Two years ago, at the beginning of summer, while walking in the local park, I saw an interesting plant. I was lucky, it was just in bloom, and I immediately realized that I needed this in my garden. And although at that moment I did not know what it was and how it was called, I stocked up on cuttings. Then already familiar plant lovers suggested: I became the owner of a buddleia, a shrub that is rare in our parks and gardens. It's a pity! It has several advantages for which it is worth growing it.

Space sherbet with champagne
You will need 400 g of sugar, fresh juice of 4 lemons, 1 bottle of dry champagne (0.8 liters), 0.5 liters of water.

Boil 0.5 liters of water with sugar until completely dissolved and another 5 minutes with systematic stirring in an enamel bowl. Let the syrup cool completely, stirring occasionally, and stir in the lemon juice. Pour the bottle, mix slowly and gently, put in a tightly closed container on the top shelf in the refrigerator to cool well (or better in ice water). Pour the liquid into an electric ice cream maker, put it in the freezer and beat the sherbet to the consistency of a cream.

If there is no electric ice cream maker, let the sherbet freeze in the freezer in a tightly closed container at a temperature not exceeding 15 degrees. In order for the sorbet to remain soft and tender, it is necessary to beat it briefly with a mixer twice or thrice (depending on the temperature in the freezer), with an interval of 60 minutes, and then freeze it again for 60 minutes. After the last beating, freeze for at least 1 hour. You can make the sherbet the day before and store it in the freezer in a tightly sealed container, just like regular ice cream.

About 1 hour before serving, move the sherbet from the freezer to the refrigerator. We spread the sherbet in transparent glasses pre-chilled in the refrigerator with an ice cream spoon (or a dessert spoon) and decorate on top to taste with chilled compote fruits or slices of fresh fruit, grated nuts, small whole nuts, pre-chilled syrup, grated chocolate, pieces of marmalade, etc. .d.

Note #1

Instead of champagne, you can use white, including fortified, wine for making sorbet (in this case, when preparing syrup, you can add a little grated nutmeg or other spices to taste) or fresh fruit juice (this sorbet is also suitable for children). In fruit juice, add to taste (for children - 1 teaspoon) cognac, rum or liquor. Wine or fruit sorbet can be flavored with grated fruit, grated citrus zest, which is added after mixing the syrup with wine or juice.

Note #2

Sherbet will be much softer and more fluffy if gelatin is soaked in a small part of water for 1 hour in the amount required to prepare 800-1000 ml of jelly (look at the gelatin package), add it to the syrup immediately after the end of the boil and stir until completely dissolved while stirring. But the addition of gelatin, depending on its quality, can slightly change the taste of the sherbet. Try cooking with and without gelatin. In general, when preparing various dishes try to experiment more - this will allow you to significantly diversify your home table.
