Transportation of indoor flowers requires preparation not only from the trucking company, but also from their owner. A week before the trip, the flowers should be fed so that they gain strength before transportation. 1-2 days before the trip, you need to stop watering or spraying the flowers, as the earth in the pot should dry out well. You can sprinkle them with epin - this is a kind of "sedative" that will effectively help plants survive stress.

Climbing and tall plants it is highly desirable to tie it to a support - a wooden peg (in its absence, for example, a ruler will do). The peg is placed in the pot from the side where the plant has grown the least so that its lower end almost touches the bottom, and the upper one reaches the “crown” of the flower. The stems are tied with soft braid or woolen threads, if the plant is large - with soft wire in a plastic sheath or ordinary rope.

We love our work! We only have positive and sympathetic guys

small plants can be put in a cardboard box right in the pots, tightly filling the space between them with foam rubber, a film with "bubbles" or just soft rags. If they fit completely in the box, then it is sealed with tape, and holes are made in the box so that green pets can breathe. If the top “sticks out” of the box, then it is left open, and the top is tightly wrapped with oilcloth or cling film. In winter, bottles with flowers are always put in boxes with flowers. hot water or heating pads.

On cacti (and other thorny plants) you can “hook” pieces of foam by wrapping them with tape, and wrap the plants themselves with several layers of roll building insulation, warm fabric or newspapers. It is not recommended to transport flowering cacti, but if absolutely necessary, they are transported only in tightly closed containers.

"Transportation-Carrying" - the best service for best price

If plants are transported with other things, they are put into the truck last - first large specimens, then small flowers. Be sure to secure them well in the car! In the summer, if you drive far, it is advisable to stop every 2 hours and ventilate the truck so that the plants can "breathe".

If the flowers were transported in the warm season, then after arriving at the place they need to be unpacked and watered. In winter, plants should not be unpacked immediately, but should be allowed to stand for 2-3 hours, so that they gradually get used to the change in t, and then water warm water(30-32 °C). If it seems that they are a little “sad” after moving, you can sprinkle them again with epin (according to the instructions) or treat them with zircon in 2-3 days.

Transportation of flowers in pots must be carried out with all precautions. Do not risk your pupils, entrust the care of them to professionals. Experienced drivers and loaders of the Perevozki-Perenoski company will make sure that your pets and garden pets reach their destination in complete safety and good health!

If there are any questions

It is generally accepted that active efforts to grow plants fall on the period from spring to autumn. Winter is a period of rest for most representatives of the green kingdom. But sometimes life circumstances develop in such a way that in the midst of a frosty winter, plants need to be transferred to new apartment Or bring someone as a gift. This problem should be approached with all responsibility and then nothing bad will happen to gentle creatures.

Preparing to move

Plants should not be sprayed or watered until the next transport. A clod of earth should have time to dry by the time of the trip. This is due to the fact that, firstly, in severe frost, ice crystals can form in the soil and damage the roots. And, secondly, a moistened clod of earth makes the container heavier and creates additional difficulties for transfer.

Exist different ways winter transportation of plants. Here are the most simple and practical ones:

Method 1

It is suitable for use under two conditions: if the plants are small in size, and the trip in the cold does not take long.

Flower pots are placed in a large cardboard box close to each other. The box must be closed at the top. In this form, green travelers safely endure the cold for up to half an hour.

Method 2

If the thermometer has dropped threateningly down, then it is better not to risk insulating the shipping container. You can pour warm between the pots sawdust. They will additionally support warm air and warm the flowers.

Tulips packed for shipping

The plant box itself must be wrapped in several layers of burlap. Suitable for this purpose and an old woolen blanket. To prevent the material from getting wet, it is better to make a polyethylene wrapper on top. Perhaps such work will seem troublesome, but your favorite plants are guaranteed to survive a dangerous trip.

Method 3

For tall plants in large containers, it is more convenient to make a bag. It can be made from paper or plastic. The latter option is, of course, more practical. If there is no ready-made bag for the size of the plant, then they take a plastic sheet and use a stapler to make it on their own. To give the “package” a more compact shape, you can carefully tie the above-ground part with ropes like a Christmas tree.
In the case of a long trip or severe frost, it is advisable to make over polyethylene, as in the previous method, thermal insulation layer from burlap or woolen fabric.

Method 4

Some plants have large thorns or spines that are dangerous if carried awkwardly. To protect your hands, small pieces of foam are carefully put on sharp parts. And then placed in a plastic bag.

On the sharp thorn pin the foam to protect the main package

Care after winter transport

After the plants are warm in a new place, they must be immediately unpacked and watered with water heated to 25-28 ° C. It is not worth making the temperature warmer, since a strong contrast is also harmful to the root system of plants.

The described methods of winter transportation of plants will help reduce stress and negative effects on plants. Green friends will maintain their health and with the advent of spring they will delight the eye with lush growth and flowering.

Usually in winter, the desire to buy a new plant increases, so that at least from the inside, at home, there is some kind of greenery. It always happens - the less greenery on the street, the greater the desire to plant greenery on the windowsill. But the trouble is that the plants sold in the winter have already gone through the stress associated with transportation, and extra transportation (especially unsuccessful) can simply ruin them.
When we moved house, I transported plants in the winter from the old place of residence to the new one. I transported for a long time, in several stages: I have a lot of plants, and most of them are so large that it was possible to transport only one per trip. In the case of one or two plants, everything is simpler, but certain rules must be followed.

Plants are usually ready to endure 10-15 minutes of cooling without damage - this is what I took advantage of. In my case, the move was quite short. But even when buying a new plant, the time spent in the cold is also short. As long as the box keeps warm, the car will already have time to warm up, or the plants will already be in the subway (or in other public transport), where it is quite warm and you can not be afraid of freezing plants.
With large plants, this method, of course, does not work. Therefore, for large specimens, I made a bag (one meter wide and three meters long) from thin oilcloth. With the same success, you can use polyethylene or even paper (but paper can tear).
The length and width of the bag were such that both the pot placed on the “bottom” and the crown of the plant were freely placed in it. To make the plant more compact during transportation, the bag was tied with ropes on the outside (approximately as Christmas tree during the transportation). You can also use duct tape, but I needed a "reusable" bag, so I preferred the ropes. About ten large plants a meter and a half high were transported.

The longest was bougainvillea - four meters long, as it turned out. Before moving, she grew, bending under the ceiling. Bougainvillea usually loses almost all the leaves after transportation, but then grows new ones. As a result of the move, my bougainvillea did not shed a single leaf! She lost only two leaves, which simply did not fit in the bag and therefore froze on the street. However, she did not throw them off - it was I who tore them off myself when I saw that they were frozen - they remained green, but withered. In addition to the transportation itself, it is important to properly prepare the plants for it. Before moving, I did not water them for several days, so that there was no water in the ground, which could freeze during transportation and damage the roots. Naturally, it is also not necessary to spray the plants in front of the road. For several days before transportation, it is better to refrain from watering and spraying - this can kill plants during winter transportation. The 80-cm pachypodium turned out to be a very difficult plant to transport (I call it "cactus with leaves"). The problem was that it was too prickly, too big and outweighed the pot. In any case, it would have to be supported by a prickly trunk during transfer and transportation. The way out has been found! On the thorns, I fastened pieces of foam plastic with a wide layer (to take it with my hands), wrapped the foam plastic with wide adhesive tape so that it would not fall off. After such preparation, the plant was placed in a "bag" of oilcloth. I carried the pachypodium, holding its pot in one hand, and with the other hand, holding the plant by the part of the stem that I "secured" with foam. Neither the spines of the pachypodium nor my hands were affected as a result.

Probably, any large cacti can be transported in the same way.
After transporting and installing the plants in a new place, they should immediately be watered with warm water (slightly warmer than room temperature), since the plants were not watered for a long time before transportation. This is also required in order for the temperature of the earth to equalize with room temperature as quickly as possible. And the sooner this happens, the better for the plants. Moreover, the more the earth in the pot cooled during transportation, the more warm water you need to use (but not hotter than 30-32 degrees).
If you do not plan to transport your plants from apartment to apartment in winter, but just suddenly suddenly want to buy a plant you like in a store, I would advise you to postpone this purchase - because you do not have with you the necessary, prepared in advance, appropriate reliable packaging for plants.
And when you purposefully go to the flower shop in the cold season to buy a potted plant, why not take a large plastic bag or a folded cardboard box with you? They will help

There are not so many people who are enthusiastic about moving. They are especially disliked by the owners of houseplants. HOW TO TRANSPORT FLOWERS AND NOT LET THEM DIE ON THE ROAD?

  • Ready houseplants follows in advance. In the bustle of gathering, try to forget about your pets for three days and do not water. By the day of the move, land in flower pots should be dry, as in a drought period. To prevent dry soil from spilling out during transport, cover it with cardboard circles that you can cut yourself.
  • Long plants are the most troublesome when moving, so in order not to damage their stems, you need to stock up on wooden pegs. Insert a peg into the center of the pot and carefully tie the stems of the plant to it. If the plant is too bushy and branchy, then you will need a few pegs.
  • The upper part of large plants is the most exposed and fragile. Secure it by wrapping it in a linen bag or oilcloth.

  • With small flowers, things are much easier. Small plants such as violets can be placed in cardboard boxes, and small cardboard partitions can be arranged between the pots. If you are moving in the winter, then it will not be superfluous to take care of the heating of the sufferers being transported. Having the opportunity to transport flowers in your own car, you don’t have to think about creating special climatic conditions. Don't have your own car? Then in boxes with plants, put plastic bottles filled with hot water, and fill all the free space with soft paper or scraps from the packaging film, the one with bubbles.
  • Using the services of a company that deals with transportation and renting a large truck complete with movers, warn the latter that the flowers need to be loaded last.
  • Be sure to ensure that large plants are securely fastened.
  • It also happens that it is not possible to transport flowers directly in pots. What to do in this case? Don't panic and don't get upset. Go to the store and buy moss. Next, you need to carefully take out the plants, cover their roots with wet moss and pack them in separate bags. To transport them, you will need a box, which must be lined with foam, but only if you are moving in the winter.
  • In the warm season, immediately after arriving at a new place, indoor plants need to be unpacked and poured with lukewarm water. If the move took place in the winter, then you should not immediately unpack the flowers. Let them get used to room temperature and only after a few hours remove the packaging.
  • It is quite possible that you will have a desire to fertilize plants that have succumbed to such a perverted torture. Don't do this under any circumstances! You can fertilize them only after they start up new shoots.

Tie the stems of medium-sized flowers to pegs stuck in the center of the pot. Wrap houseplants in paper and tie at the top. For branched plants, it is necessary to fix several pegs along the edges of the pot, tie them at the top. Wrap the entire structure with paper and tie at the crown.

For tall indoor flowers, pick up a bag of linen or oilcloth, a little wider and longer than the plant itself. The pot is placed at the bottom of the bag, which is tied on top with tape or rope. Outside, the bag is carefully wrapped with twine so as not to damage the crown. In case of cold weather, the flower can be insulated with an additional layer of film.

To protect a prickly houseplant from breaking the spikes during transportation, and you from scratches, pin pieces of Styrofoam on the spikes and secure them with tape. Handle them especially carefully, as the needles are usually quite fragile and brittle.

How to transport indoor plants and flowers during cold weather and protect them from freezing in winter when moving?

Such packaging will save your favorite plants from freezing. When transporting large indoor plants, the branches are carefully twisted, fixed to pegs and wrapped with several layers of felt or other insulating material.

How to arrange indoor flowers in the car when loading during a move?

Houseplants are loaded onto a truck at the very end. First, large specimens are arranged, then boxes with small indoor flowers, and last of all, “problematic” ones that require special handling. They should be fixed in the car to ensure they are immobile during.

Upon arrival at a new place, the flowers need to be unpacked and the wrapper removed. Inspect each plant, remove damaged leaves and branches. Pour warm water over immediately. This will equalize the temperature of the soil with the ambient temperature and houseplants will recover faster after transportation. Until new shoots appear, do not apply fertilizer to the ground.
