However, the design of the assembly can be simplified without compromising the smoothness of rotation by removing the ball bearing.

DIY: what to collect

Let's say you have an ordinary unremarkable round wooden table, but you want more comfortable dining furniture with a pivoting center section for comfortable access to dishes. I offer simple instructions for assembling and installing the very rotary part, by turning which, this or that dish will be easy to get from anywhere at the table.

The assembly instructions in this article are intended for round tables with a diameter of 1-1.2 m. But what if there is no such furniture initially?

The instructions in the article are a guide to assembling a small countertop. Therefore, simply increase the proposed dimensions and, in addition to the turning part, assemble the main tabletop from the same boards.

	Make a template. On old wallpaper or on unnecessary cardboard we draw a circle with a diameter of 550 mm. Cut out the circle according to the markup made earlier. If there is no compass, a rope will help to draw a circle. We tie a nail to one end of the rope, and a pencil to the other at the required distance. We put the nail in the center and draw a line with a pencil.
	Break the template into segments. We fold the paper circle in half, and then three more times to get 8 identical wedges.
	Make an insert template. We measure 3 cm from the extreme point of the circle along the fold line. We connect the marked points and get the workpiece as in the photo.
	Cut out liners according to the template. We cut off one of the eight extreme fragments from the template, as shown in the photo. We attach the template to the board and draw around the contour. Cut out the part according to the markup. To perform a curved cut, we use an electric jigsaw. As a result, we make 8 identical blanks.
	Sand the liners. We smooth out the bumps with sandpaper and clean the workpieces from dust.
	Make the base of the circle. We fold the previously prepared 8 parts and glue them end to end. In order to obtain an acceptable quality of gluing, we place the parts on a flat surface. From plywood 4 mm thick we cut out a circle with a diameter of 530 mm. We glue the plywood circle on top of the hoop glued from wooden fragments. After the glue has completely dried, turn the circle upside down and remove the influx of glue from under the planks.
	Fill in the base of the circle. We alternately apply the boards to the notch of the circle and cut them so that they stand close to the side along the edge. We glue the boards prepared in this way into the recess and place them under the load for the drying time.
	Lacquer. We cover the finished tray with varnish or other paintwork materials that match the design of the table.
	Set turntable. We attach the outer ring of the plain bearing to the main tabletop. We attach the mating part of the bearing to the bottom of the tray. We insert the tray into the bearing on the countertop, after applying grease.

Explanation to the instructions: how to make a plain bearing? In order for the turntable to rotate freely without swaying, you need a bearing that you can do yourself.

The diagram shows a simple plain bearing consisting of two rings - an outer and an inner ring or cylinder. Both structural element fastened to the corresponding sides of the combined tabletops.

The gap between the outer and inner ring in order to avoid play should be no more than 1-2 mm. One ring is attached to one countertop, the other to the other.

Perhaps the assembled assembly will not be as comfortable as a ball bearing when scrolling, but given the speed of rotation of the turntable, this is not so important.

Let's start the assembly. Here in the middle there is a place for bearings. Ball bearings will be used. Took it apart and cleaned everything very well. If you gently press, then everything is inserted by hand. One bearing needs to be slightly lubricated with panasonic oil. We insert the second bearing, climbed into the mine. It also needs a little lubrication. These bearings are needed so that the minitable can rotate. A thrust bearing is inserted from above. This is the denser part. And this is a part. Which will rotate, it has a slightly smaller diameter. Now if you put a table here, it will rotate.

This table is placed at the very last moment, after the electric motor is installed. It is already assembled together with the power supply circuit. There is a switch here, you can hear the engine running.

Let's collect the body parts. Although we need the engine to understand exactly where the switch should be, since it is already soldered. You need to know this very precisely.

Flip the table back. A decorative ring is installed on top and pressed with screws. I cut a thread specifically for the ring.
